Westshore Primary Care welcomes the addition of endocrinologist Christina M. Trillis, MD, who is now accepting new patients at her Avon Lake and Westlake offices. Dr. Trillis received her bachelor of science degree from Allegheny College, her medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and completed her internal medicine residency and fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.
As an endocrinologist, Dr. Trillis specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions related to the endocrine system, the complex network of hormone-secreting glands in the human body. Hormones are critical to healthy function. A number of conditions can be caused by an under or overproduction of hormones, an inability to process certain hormones, or other problems relating to the endocrine system. Diabetes and thyroid disorders are two of the most common conditions encountered by endocrinologists. However she also sees patients with parathyroid disease, calcium disorders, adrenal disorders, pituitary tumors, and thyroid cancer.
